Dan Bighaus

 

Dan Bighaus Jr.

Born August 9th, 1940. 

Dan was in the army in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1967. 
At the age of 15 he was told that he looked like Tony Curtis. He hitch hiked many times to San Francisco, Ca. and Hollywood, Ca. in hopes to be a movie star and be discovered.

At the age of 12, Dan loved to sing in Church, but was very nervous and shy. At the age of 13 he finally had enough courage to actually sing in front of friends and families, but no one seemed to pay much attention to his singing. At the age of 13 is when Dan took his first hitch hiking trip to San Francisco by himself.
 
He worked at Swabs drugstore on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills, Ca. were Lana Turner was discover. He thought, “Why not me!”

As he got older he said the he would make it in Hollywood to be a star. Dan has always been a dreamer. It wasn’t long until he was in a few movies as an extra. 

Still wanting to be discovered at the age of 19, he hitches hiked back to Portland, Oregon. He found himself homeless, not knowing where to go next. 
Running away wasn’t the answer. 

His first big break at the age of 32 he got a part in a film as an extra. The movie was called “Eye for an Eye”, starting Chuck Norris. His roles where a police officer and a business man. 
Following that, he was in the movie, “Lady in Red, Gene Wilder Productions. He played a cop as an extra. 

At the age of 38, his next film project in Santa Rosa, California was, “A Time for Every Purpose”, staring Lana Wood and Russ Timberline. Dan played a stunt man. 

At this time, Dan felt he was getting no where as an extra. At 48 years of age Dan wrote his first Screen play, titled: “Sighting of Big Foot, The Mystery Continues” Location of screen play was in Rainier, Oregon. 

At 50 years old Dan was living in San Jose. He was invited to a Halloween Party, where he dressed up like Elvis. He won best costume as an Elvis look alike. This time it wasn’t a movie, it was real. He felt this was a start. 

He moved to Vegas and got a job as a security officer for three years. He was then hired as a greeter at for Time Shares. That didn’t’ last long. Following that, he signed up with many casting agencies: Wild Streak Talent, Lear Agency, Baskow Talents, Classic Models and Talents. It wasn’t long until he joined S.A.G. (Screen Writers Guild). Dan continued to write Children’s short stories in his free time. 

At 60 years old, Dan played a dealer in “3,000 miles to Graceland.” Following that he was an extra as a restaurant customer in “Pay it Forward.” Lear Agency cast me for “Undisputed,” movie project as a prison inmate, in Indian Springs, Nevada, filmed at the Federal Prison. 

After that, Dan started singing again in many lounges and karaoke bars. In 2006, Dan played an Elvis impersonator in the film, “Lady Magdalenes.”
In 2007 Dan produced and directed in Pahrump, Nevada, a senior idol production. 
Dan currently performs as Elvis, along with singing Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Englebert Humperdink and country songs karaoke style. 
In 2007, Dan started planning a new project, called: “Elvis plans a Western movie in Pahrump”. This project is still in process. 


Dan is currently traveling with Venita Fredrick, performing fire dancing and as an Elvis impersonator with D. & V. RV STAR Productions. They perform for a variety of audiences including senior centers. Venita is 81 years young and Dan is 68 years young, and both are going strong.
